Course Description

Provides users with the knowledge to perform all day to day data analysis & graphics tasks with just a click of a mouse

Course content includes Introduction to the S+ point/click interface, Data Import/Export, Data Manipulation, Creating Powerful Graphics & Statistical Analysis.

Course presentations are backed up by frequent practical sessions. Includes course materials.

Recommended Prerequisites

No experience in S+ is necessary.

• Introduction to the S+ point & click Interface
• Accessing Help
• Creating Working Directories for different projects.
• Data Import/Export & Editing
• Data Manipulation including Stack, Subset & Merge
• How to Create & Edit Graphics - Histograms, Box Plots, Bar Charts, Scatter Plots & 3D Plots
  - Changing symbols, colours, style of points, axes, range etc
  - Labelling & Identifying Points. Adding Titles etc
  - Multiple Graphs on a single graphsheet.
• Trellis Graphics
  - Conditioning Graphics by other Variables in your data set.
  - Examples with Continuous & Categorical Variables
  - Plotting Subsets of Rows
• Exporting Graphics
• Linear and Non-Linear Regression via drop-down menu
• Customisation and Handy Hints

About the Presenter: Kris Angelovski holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics & Master of Statistics degree from UNSW.

Kris has worked with S+ or R for over 18 years & has gained valuable experience from providing technical support, training & consulting.

Kris is currently Director of SolutionMetrics, where he has helped a number of clients across several industries extract valuable knowledge from their data through data mining methods & graphics.
